YOU LEFT A LEGACY
YOU LEFT A LEGACY
As the year 2017 comes to an end, the moi university peer counselling movement would like to pay tribute to everyone that made our activities run smoothly. The movement dedicates this year' success to our elders, who graduated this year. These people are our role models, our source of inspiration and motivation.
The following counsellors should therefore receive much appreciation because of their recognized contributions to the movement and their achievements.
Dennis Chagusia. He begun as a representative of peer educators (a complementary group). He brought partnership between PCM and PE which saw accomplishment of many outreaches and shows. Chagusia coordinated MUPCM with psychology students association to initiate so many workshops. Finally. Its Chagusia that brought the idea of Counsellors publication (The Guardian ) which became a reality.
Thank u bro. You left a legacy.
Lexy. Alexander Lexy was Chagusi's rigjt hand man. He never leader held any leadership position in the club. He was a member. But we shall remember him for one great thing. Lexy drafted the constitution of the movement. He wrote it, brought members on board and finally we had a constitution. May you live with that spirit of stepping up for a responsibility.
Priscilla Mutheu Paul. Trustworthy, dignified and a lady with integrity. She was always the treasurer when on session. Humble but tough when things are serious. Mobilized funds and projects ran smoothly. The movement will forever remember you.
Florentinah Hiza. She might not be known by many because of her quietness. But you're assured that most decisions being made by the executive were pieces of advice from Hidza. As a member of advisory composed of elders, Hidza was a time keeper to meetings, a briliant decision maker and a wise advisor. She is a mother, a caretaker, a leader of leaders and a super member of the movement. Hidza, you made most people to be leaders. The movement will continue because of the seeds u planted.
Joy Maele. She never held any leadership position buy Joy's time in the movement teaches one thing. Success of the movement does not only require good leadership but also a committed and a compliant membership. Joy attended trainings on time, participated well and as records say never missed any workshop, CSR, picnic, coffee house or any event that required members' presence. Thanks Joy.
Anne Chichi Odongo. Very few people would remember her but I can say that Anne sustained the movement at very difficult moments. All senior members were away and there was uncertainty on which group would be on session. Members and some leaders became dormant. People left the movement. This is the time trainings would be attended by only the exec. Anne together with Munyasya Rodgers carried the movement on their hands. They pressed on. They stood firm. This indeed is what is required of a leader. May you prosper.
These are just a few people. There is also Wasungu Absalom whose Swahili eloquence always lit up discussions and many others that have not been covered here. Once again congratulations for your graduation. We believe you will continue doing great things out there. You're one step ahead because being in MUPCM and undergoing the trainings for four years is like a course alltothether. We all appreciate you and wish you well as you become alumni.
To current members, these guys have set a prescedent. May you follow their footsteps. Leave a legacy too. Let Be remembered one day too.
